Scott
affectionately known as "snotty" by Dave
First became interested in playing music at the age of 14 after watching live bands whilst on holiday.
At school he started to learn keyboards but soon got bored so decided to move on and learn bass. After settling on bass, and with technique improving quickly, he decided to have a bash at playing drums and took to it well.
A band was set up for a brief period with Scott on bass playing Metalica and Guns n Roses covers. After the band he became a firm fixture as the schools bassist, playing concerts at christmas, easter and in the summer, and on one occasion his talents being drafted in for a concert at another school. (Talk about having a good rep!)
After passing all his exams he secured a place at Barnsley music college.
Unfortunately facilities were poor at the time so he decided to leave and have private tuition.
All was not lost though because at college he'd formed another band and was doing regular gigs on the Barnsley pub circuit gaining him valuable experience. 15 months down the line after some memorable nights travelling to gigs in the back of a Volvo estate car with drums, amps and all, the band members individually left to join club bands.
Scott successfully auditioned for Doncaster band "The New Gents" where he spent 2 and half years travelling far and wide doing gigs from WMC's to military bases( The highlight being support for Chubby Brown on 2 fantastic sell out nights at Doncaster Dome.)
The band went through numerous members during that period and Scott began to get unsettled and decided to move on.
Thats where he and Dave got their heads together.
The 2 had been friends for a year or so having meat through the business and on one occasion Dave's (then) Bluezonia being on the same bill as Scott with The New Gents.
From this the trio" Outside" was born with Scott having to do something he'd never done in music before............sing!
Holiday centres were the main type of work for the trio and the travelling took its toll. 3 members came and went in the space of 2 years with Scott and Dave being the ever presents.........
Which brings us up to date with the current Bluezonia. After a 6month break between Outside and Bluezonia, (in which Scott went to play bass for rock band The Word) the duo was reborn. Different in many ways to the old BZ but the lads like it that way............
and loving every minute of it!
